SPH4U Grade 12 Physics

This course enables students to deepen their understanding of foundational physics concepts and theories, building on their previous knowledge to explore more complex topics. Students will investigate energy transformations and the forces that influence motion, while also examining
electrical, gravitational, and magnetic fields, as well as electromagnetic radiation.

Additional areas of focus include the wave nature of light, quantum mechanics, and the theory of special relativity. Through a combination of theoretical and practical learning, students will enhance their scientific inquiry and analytical skills, interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data related to a wide range of physics principles.

Emphasis is also placed on evaluating the societal and environmental impact of technological advancements rooted in physics.
