This course enables students to explore the major events, developments, and transformations in world history from 1450 to the present. Students will examine the origins of modern political, social, and economic systems and assess the impact of significant historical movements, ideologies, and global conflicts.
Through the application of historical thinking concepts and the critical analysis of primary and secondary sources, students will investigate how past events have shaped the contemporary world. The course encourages reflection on themes such as conflict and cooperation, globalization, revolution, and human rights—offering insight into whether societies have progressed or regressed over time.
Students planning to pursue studies in history, political science, international relations, law or the social sciences.
