MCV4U Grade 12 Calculus and Vectors

This course builds on students’ prior knowledge of functions and deepens their understanding of rates of change. Students will explore both geometric and algebraic representations of vectors, and apply these to problems involving lines and planes in three-dimensional space.

The course also broadens students’ understanding of calculus by introducing the concept of the derivative. Students will investigate the derivatives of polynomial, sinusoidal, exponential, rational, and radical functions, and apply these tools to model and analyze real-world relationships.
